Biography
Edwin Vanderbruggen is an international legal practitioner, scholar, and senior adviser with more than 30 years of experience in international taxation, international economic law, cross-border investment and transactions, investment law, energy, and public international law, with a strong focus on Asia.
He combines academic research with extensive professional practice and has advised governments and international organizations, including the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Asian Development Bank, and UNESCAP. His work has covered tax and legal reform, public-private partnerships, infrastructure, investment law and arbitration, WTO law, and trade remedies.
He is Senior Partner at VDB Loi / Andersen and previously served as a full-time adviser to Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance. He has taught at universities in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Belgium, and the Netherlands and has delivered guest lectures at institutions including the National University of Singapore, Seoul National University, Auckland University, and the University of Bradford.
