On 5 September 2026, Mr. Saiyan Devid, Representative of NUM iLAW, attended the Law Brief 2026 Book Launch & KASFLY Graduation, organized by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Cambodia under the theme “Law and Innovation Economy” at Tribe Phnom Penh Post Office Square.
The event marked the graduation of fellows from the KAS For Legal Youth (KASFLY) program and the official launch of Law Brief 2026, featuring legal research and articles contributed by emerging young Cambodian legal scholars and practitioners.
NUM iLAW was especially pleased to celebrate the achievements of two of our alumni whose articles were published in Law Brief 2026.
Mr. Somnang Odom – NUM iLAW Alumnus, Class of 2025, contributed an article entitled: “Digital Evidence Acquisition from Smartphones and Computers in Cambodian Criminal Proceedings”
His article examines legal issues surrounding the acquisition and use of digital evidence from smartphones and computers in Cambodian criminal proceedings. It identifies key legal challenges and proposes approaches to strengthen the handling of digital evidence while ensuring appropriate procedural safeguards.
Mr. Bon Somrach – NUM iLAW Alumnus, Class of 2023, contributed an article entitled: “Cybersecurity Incident Reporting in Cambodia’s Banking Sector: Addressing Regulatory Fragmentation and Institutional Coordination”
His article explores challenges relating to cybersecurity incident reporting within Cambodia’s banking sector, including overlapping reporting obligations, inconsistent requirements, unclear institutional coordination, and fragmented reporting structures. The article also proposes measures aimed at improving coordination and strengthening the effectiveness of cybersecurity incident reporting.
Their contributions reflect NUM iLAW’s commitment to developing graduates who are able to engage with emerging legal and regulatory issues through research, critical analysis, and practical solutions. The publications also demonstrate how our alumni continue to contribute to Cambodia’s evolving legal and professional community beyond their undergraduate studies.
