Alumni Testimony: Odom Somnang, NUM iLAW Class of 2025

September 8, 2026 - 75 views - By NUM iLAW Editorial Team

Meet Odom Somnang, graduate of the LL.B., International Program of Legal Studies (2021–2025) and currently Junior Associate & Business Development Officer, Kinstellar Southeast Asia in association with Sok Siphana Sethalay.

Odom reflects on his journey at NUM iLAW, the community that shaped him, and the values he continues to carry into professional practice.

"I would not have become who I am without stepping into the International Program of Legal Studies at the National University of Management. It remains one of the few moments I can point to and say that my life changed direction there. What I remember most is not a competition or a grade, but the feeling of belonging to one large family: mentors who gave their time freely, peers who argued with me until the argument was better, and juniors who trusted me with their preparation. It is also where my thesis on digital evidence began, a question I am still writing about a year later, now in professional practice. The value I carry from iLAW is learning by doing, and it is the same value I apply at an international firm today. It is also why I keep returning to coach, to judge, and to remind the next generation that the goal is not only to win a moot, but to become a legal professional with a conscience. I am proud to be an iLAW alumnus, and that pride is permanent."

Odom’s journey reflects NUM iLAW’s learning-by-doing approach, where students develop their legal knowledge alongside practical skills, research experience, professional exposure, and a strong sense of responsibility toward their community.

His continued engagement with NUM iLAW as a coach and judge, even after graduation, also demonstrates the strong connection between our alumni and the next generation of students.

We are proud to see our graduates continuing to grow professionally while giving back to the community that supported their journey.

Once NUM iLAW, always NUM iLAW.
